NEW: Strategy Board - Draw Your Pulls Like You Actually Have a Plan

Stop explaining boss mechanics with "just don't stand in the bad." Now you can draw exactly where everyone should stand, who soaks what, and watch them ignore it anyway.

NEW: Strategy Board - Draw Your Pulls Like You Actually Have a Plan

"Stack on me." "Where?" "On me." "WHERE?" "JUST LOOK AT— okay everyone's dead."

I've been watching your raid comms through combat logs for a while now. Not directly, of course. But I can see the results. The deaths that happen in completely different locations. The soaks that get handled by zero people or seven people. The "I thought YOU were getting that" moments that cost you 15 minutes of progression time.

You know what would help? A picture. An actual visual strategy that everyone can reference before the pull. Revolutionary concept, I know.

Introducing Strategy Board

WowCoach now has a built-in strategy planning tool where you can create, edit, and share tactical diagrams for any boss encounter or M+ route. Think of it as a whiteboard for people who've realized that saying "just spread out" isn't actually a strategy.

One click. Create a board. Start drawing. It's that simple.

What You Can Actually Do

Draw Like Your Raid's Life Depends On It

Because it literally does.

  • Freehand drawing - Circle the danger zones, draw arrows showing movement, scribble "CERTAIN DEATH" in the corner where that one DPS keeps standing
  • Arrows - Show movement paths, tank swap positions, or where the boss should be faced (and where it definitely shouldn't)
  • Raid markers - Skull, Cross, Circle, Square, Moon, Triangle, Diamond, Star. Place them exactly where they need to be. No more "stack on skull" when skull is in three different places depending on who you ask

Ability Icons That Actually Mean Something

I've added 14 mechanic icons that cover basically every situation your raid will mess up:

  • Void Zone (purple) - The floor is lava. Literally. Stop standing in it.
  • Soak (blue) - Someone needs to be here. Preferably more than zero people.
  • Spread (orange) - Get away from each other. Yes, that includes you, melee.
  • Stack (green) - Get together. No, not THAT together. Just... closer.
  • Frontal (red) - Boss is about to delete anything in front of it. Move.
  • Cleave (amber) - Tank, stop pointing this at the raid. I'm begging you.
  • Interrupt (pink) - If you don't kick this, we wipe. Assign it.
  • Dodge (cyan) - Something's coming. Don't be where it's going.
  • Knockback (purple) - Position yourself or enjoy the scenic wall collision.
  • Dispel (teal) - Healer, please. Before they explode.
  • Heal (emerald) - Major healing required. Cooldown time.
  • Tank (indigo) - Tank mechanic. Tank problem. Everyone else: continue parsing.
  • DPS (red) - Burn phase. Press all your buttons. Yes, even that one you've been saving.
  • Danger (yellow) - Generic "bad things happen here." Use liberally.

Drag them onto the map. Resize them. Rotate them. Create a visual language your raid might actually understand.

Text Labels & Sticky Notes

Sometimes you need to write things down. Like:

  • "HEALER COOLDOWNS HERE"
  • "Bloodlust at 30%"
  • "If you die here I'm benching you"
  • "This is where we wiped 47 times last week"

Add text labels anywhere. Drop sticky notes with color-coded instructions. Make it impossible for someone to say "I didn't know" when they're standing in the exact spot you marked "DO NOT STAND HERE" in bright yellow.

Grid & Snap-to-Grid

For the organizationally inclined. Toggle a grid overlay, adjust the grid size, and enable snap-to-grid so your markers line up perfectly. Because if your strategy diagram looks like a toddler drew it, people might not take it seriously.

(They might not take it seriously anyway, but at least you tried.)

Keyboard Shortcuts for the Sweaty Strategists

Because clicking is for casuals:

KeyAction
VSelect mode
BBrush/freehand
AArrow tool
MRaid markers
TText label
NSticky note
IAbility icons
EEraser
GToggle grid
[Collapse toolbar
?Show all shortcuts

You can build an entire strategy without touching your mouse. Your raid lead is going to be insufferable about this. Worth it.

Share It (So They Have No Excuse)

Visibility Options

  • Private - Just for you. Tinker with it. Perfect it. Weep when you realize how complicated this boss actually is.
  • Guild - Share with your guild. Now everyone can see the plan. And everyone can see who's not following it.
  • Public - Share with anyone via link. Perfect for posting in Discord, embedding in forum guides, or passive-aggressively linking after a wipe.

One-Click Sharing

Hit the share button, copy the link, paste it in Discord. Done.

Now when someone says "I didn't see the strategy," you can respond with a link and watch them realize they have no excuse. Beautiful.

Built for Every Device

Create strategies on your desktop with the full sidebar. Review them on mobile with the streamlined bottom toolbar. The board adapts to whatever screen you're using.

Because sometimes you need to check the strategy while you're sitting in queue on your phone, pretending you remember where to stand for Phase 3.

Tag & Organize

Add up to 10 tags per board. Filter your boards by dungeon, raid, boss, difficulty, whatever system makes sense to you.

Keep your strategies organized instead of scrolling through 47 boards named "strat final v2 REAL final this time."

Why This Matters

Let me be real with you.

Every progression raid has that moment. The one where the raid leader spends five minutes explaining mechanics. People say "got it." The pull happens. Someone immediately does the wrong thing. Wipe at 90%.

"Did you not understand?" "I thought you meant the OTHER side."

A picture is worth a thousand words. A strategy diagram is worth at least one less wipe per night. Over a progression tier, that's hours of your life saved.

And for M+ groups? You can map out your entire route. Mark skips. Note dangerous packs. Create a visual plan that everyone can reference instead of that one person typing "trust me" as they pull three packs into a patrol.

How To Use It

  1. Go to Strategy Boards - See all your boards or create a new one
  2. Pick a map - Choose your raid or dungeon background
  3. Draw your strategy - Use markers, icons, arrows, text, whatever tells the story
  4. Share it - Copy the link, post it in Discord, pray people actually look at it
  5. Update it - Strategy not working? Edit it between pulls. The board saves automatically.

That's it. No complicated setup. No external tools. Just open, draw, share.

One More Thing

This tool won't make your raiders follow the strategy. I wish I could fix that. Believe me, I've tried.

But it WILL eliminate "I didn't know" as an excuse. It WILL give you something to point at when someone asks "where do I go?" for the fifteenth time. And it WILL make you look like you actually prepared for this boss instead of winging it.

Whether they listen? That's between them and their keyboard.

Create Your First Strategy Board - Start planning pulls that might actually work.

Stay clutch.
