AI WoW Coaching · Midnight Season 1

WoW Coaching
from your own combat logs.

We parse what you did, compare it to your spec's rotation guide and the boss's strategy guide, and tell you — in plain English — what to change on the next pull. For all 13 classes and 40 specs in World of Warcraft: Midnight.

How WoW Coaching actually works

Three steps. No guesswork.

Every coaching call traces back to two grounded sources: the combat log file itself, and a published guide for your spec or your boss.

Step 1

Parse the log

We read the V22 combat log Blizzard emits — every cast, swing, heal, aura, death, and boss event. Our custom streaming parser segments the file into reports, instance runs, fights, and per-player per-fight stats. No data leaves your account until you choose to share it.

Mythic+RaidsOpen world
Step 2

Compare to guides

For each player, we load the rotation guide for their spec and hero talent, and the strategy guide for the encounter at the difficulty they ran. Cooldown counts, opener sequences, defensive timing, interrupt assignments, single-target vs AoE priority, and mechanic responses all get compared against the expected play.

Step 3

Coach Clutch explains

An AI coach we call Clutch returns plain-English coaching, with timestamps and ability names. Every claim cites either the log (“cast 2 of 6 possible”) or the guide (“the Scalecommander opener calls for Ebon Might first”). Follow-up questions stay in context.

What WoW coaching looks like

Real exchanges from recent pulls

Anonymized character names. Everything else — the rotation reads, the boss-mechanic citations, the cooldown counts — is what Coach Clutch actually returned.

Question

“What exactly should Vexen be casting in the first 15 seconds of the pull?”

Coach Clutch: On the kill, Vexen fired 34 Eruptions during the 160-second fight, but the opening sequence went rogue.

What’s working
  • Zero resource waste — 0% overcap on generators across the whole fight.
  • Full defensive utilization: Obsidian Scales 2 of 2, Hover 5 of 5, used to reposition during the boss’s cleave and rampage.
Rotation leaks
  • The 15-second scramble:the Scalecommander playbook calls for Ebon Might → Prescience ×2 → Breath of Eons → Tip the Scales → Fire Breath → Eruption ×3. Vexen led with Azure Strike and Eruption instead, delaying the first Ebon Might until 0:12.
  • Drifting majors:because the opener was scrambled, Breath of Eons didn’t land until 0:24 and Upheaval not until 0:31. Holding cooldowns for “perfect” windows is a flat damage loss as Scalecommander.
  • Unprotected tanks:0 of 6 possible Blistering Scales casts. The boss hammers the tank for ~101 k per Rampage tick, and the armor buff is part of the group’s survival plan.
Next-pull priority

Memorize the first five globals (Ebon Might → Prescience ×2 → Breath of Eons) so the buff catches the team’s burst window.

Question

“Korrigan was top DPS this run. Break down what they did right so the rest of the group can copy it.”

Coach Clutch:Korrigan’s resource management is surgical. They wasted exactly 3 Fury out of 1,056 generated during the 98-second fight — 0.3% waste, a huge reason they anchored the meters.

  • Fully-utilized defensives: Blur 2 of 2, Fel Barrage 2 of 2.
  • Essence Break 2 of 3 — the rotation guide is strict about firing inside Demonic windows. Korrigan nailed the combo after the 1st and 3rd Eye Beam but missed the ~0:40 window, leaving a burst chunk on the table.
  • Eye Beam 3 of 4 possible. One more Eye Beam in the next pull would lift damage another step.

Tell the group: Korrigan’s waste discipline is the model. The fix for Korrigan is tying every Essence Break to a Demonic-buffed Eye Beam — not a clock.

Question

“I had an 18 parse and was last DPS. What did I do wrong?”

Coach Clutch:The Insanity discipline is steady — zero waste entering Voidform. But the parse isn’t a rotation problem. It’s a mechanic problem.

The 33% tax

The encounter strategy calls out the Safeguard Prism matrices that must be silenced to strip the boss’s damage reduction. Each active matrix grants 33% DR. You cast Silence exactly 1 time in 324 seconds. If the boss is wearing a 33% shield, no rotation can save the parse.

Movement tax

At 3:49, while dodging Dark Quasars during the Total Eclipse intermission, GCDs stopped for 10 full seconds. Shadow has instants — refresh DoTs, snipe a Shadow Word: Death. A moving DPS still presses buttons.

Defensives

Fade 3 of 11, Desperate Prayer 0 of 4 over the fight. The Dark Archangel phase is Cosmic damage you should be eating defensives for, not the healer’s mana pool.

AI WoW coaching vs. human coaching

Both have a place. Pick the right tool.

A good human coach is great for leadership, attitude, and the read-the-room things software cannot do. For the tactical layer where most players actually leak rating, AI coaching is faster, more thorough, and orders of magnitude cheaper.

Human WoW coach
  • $30–$100/hr · per session, per player
  • Schedule a session, do the call, get notes
  • Reviews the few pulls they can fit in the hour
  • Great for leadership coaching, attitude, big-picture decisions
  • Cannot see what the log saw — works from VOD memory
WowCoach AI coaching
  • Free to $24.99/mo · whole raid, every pull
  • Between pulls. Coaching is ready in under a minute after upload
  • Reviews every fight, every player, every pull
  • Sees what the log saw — cooldowns, defensives, interrupts, ability timing
  • Every call cites the log or the guide it disagrees with

Frequently asked about WoW coaching

Common questions

What is WowCoach AI coaching?
WowCoach reads your World of Warcraft combat log, segments it into fights and Mythic+ runs, and compares what you actually did against the rotation guide for your spec and the strategy guide for the boss. It then returns plain-English coaching with timestamps and ability names — what you missed, when you missed it, and what to change on the next pull.
How is AI WoW coaching different from a human coach?
A human WoW coach watches a few of your pulls live, then talks through them over voice. WowCoach reviews every pull, every fight, every player — instantly, after each upload. It will not replace a coach for read-the-room things like raid leadership or attitude. It is faster, cheaper, and more thorough at the tactical layer: rotation gaps, missed defensives, late interrupts, who died and what killed them, and how each call compares to the published guide for your spec and the boss.
How much does WoW coaching cost on WowCoach?
Combat log parsing and review is free. AI coaching uses credits — every new account gets 10 welcome credits. Paid plans add more: Solo at $5.99/mo includes 60 credits, Pro at $14.99/mo includes 200 credits plus unlimited Sim This Pull, and Mythic at $24.99/mo includes 400 credits. Pay-as-you-go credit packs start at $2.99 for 25 credits.
What classes and specs does WowCoach cover?
All 13 classes and all 40 specs in WoW: Midnight, including the new Devourer Demon Hunter and Augmentation Evoker. Every spec has a shipped rotation guide that the AI loads at coaching time, plus hero-talent variants where they meaningfully change the rotation. Boss strategy guides cover the current raid tier and the current Mythic+ dungeon pool.
Does WoW coaching from a tool actually work?
It works for the tactical layer that most players bleed rating on: cooldown utilization, defensive usage, interrupt assignments, opener sequencing, and mechanic timing. A combat log records every event the game emits, so a parser sees things you literally cannot see live — like which buff was missing when a tank died, or which player drifted a cooldown by 12 seconds. WowCoach surfaces those gaps and cites the guide that disagrees with what you did.
Do I need to install anything for WoW coaching?
No. The web app accepts any WoWCombatLog.txt file via upload. The optional Desktop App watches your Logs folder in the background so new pulls appear in WowCoach within seconds of leaving combat — useful for between-pulls review in raid.
Can WowCoach coach Mythic+ specifically?
Yes. Mythic+ coaching covers the full key: per-pull DPS, per-pull deaths, interrupt assignments per trash pack, defensive timing on boss mechanics, and route notes when paired with the Strategy Board. Every spec has a shipped rotation guide and every current-season dungeon has a strategy guide.
